Our mission is to transform the way India lives by reimagining the spaces we inhabit. We believe that true well-being starts at home, and we are on a journey to inspire a national movement toward healthier living environments. By blending innovation with forgotten traditional practices, we aim to make every home a sanctuary, encouraging India to rethink human health and embrace preventative care, where every brick and every breath contributes to a better, healthier future for all.

Vision

We envision an India where the health of every home is as important as its location, making a comprehensive health audit from Indian Green an essential step in every home-buying process. By 2030, we aspire to have impacted over 1,000 families through 100+ projects across key cities in India.

Today’s Reality

When people choose materials for construction, they prioritize affordability and sustainability, often overlooking a critical factor: human health.

Most common materials used today contain harmful chemicals or release pollutants that can impact well-being over time.

As a result, homes and buildings designed today compromise the health of those who live and work in them.

The most common materials used today

PoP production releases carbon dioxide, while PoP applied on walls emits fine dust particles which contain Calcium Sulphate and Silica.

Exposure to Calcium Sulphate and Silica is proven to cause respiratory issues such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, Silicosis impacting residents.

Approximately 9.8 crore people in India were affected by these respiratory diseases in the year 2023 alone.

In India, an estimated ₹2 lakh crore is spent annually on healthcare for these respiratory illnesses aggravated by PoP dust exposure.

Fly ash bricks, contain toxic heavy metals like arsenic, lead, and mercury, which are released into the environment during production & overtime.

Prolonged exposure to these toxins can increase the risk of cancer, including lung and skin cancers, due to the carcinogenic properties of these substances.

Approximately 15 lakh new Cancer patients were admitted in India in the year 2023 alone.

This has resulted in a financial burden, with cancer treatment costs exceeding the annual income of 80% of the population.

Iron-based cement releases toxic substances like lead, chromium, and
other heavy metals during production & contaminating the environment over time.

Lead and chromium exposure is linked to neurological diseases like developmental delays, cognitive
impairments, and neurotoxicity,
particularly in children.

Approximately 3.8 crore people in India were hospitalized because of Neurological conditions in the year 2023 alone.

The annual cost of treating neurological disorders, is estimated at over ₹1.2 lakh crore.

Parallel Trends

Increased construction, increased hospitalizations

Insights

Despite advances in healthcare, there’s a clear link between the rise in construction projects and increasing health issues.

With the surge in housing projects over recent years, Indian Green anticipates an even sharper escalation in hospitalization cases linked to unhealthy construction materials over the next five years.

This underscores the urgent need for adopting healthy building materials to
safeguard the well-being of future generations.

The Opportunity

The Healthy Building Market is Undefined and Unorganised.

Lack of awareness about homes damaging health, and healthy building materials

People know where to buy healthy building materials

People don’t know how to use healthy building materials
